Privacy notice
Objective and Responsible Party
This privacy policy clarifies the nature, scope, and purpose of the processing (including collection, processing, and use, as well as obtaining consent) of personal data within our online offering and the websites, functions, and content associated with it (hereinafter collectively referred to as "online offering" or "website"). The privacy policy applies regardless of the domains, systems, platforms, and devices (e.g., desktop or mobile) on which the online offering is executed.
The provider of the online offering and the data protection responsible party is Scheitlin Papier AG, Hummelweg 17, 9244 Niederuzwil, Switzerland (hereinafter referred to as "Provider", "we" or "us"). For contact options, please refer to our legal notice.
The term "user" includes all customers and visitors of our online offering. The terms used, such as "user," are to be understood as gender-neutral.
Basic Information on Data Processing
We process personal data of users only in compliance with the relevant data protection regulations, in accordance with the principles of data minimization and data avoidance. This means that user data is processed only if there is a legal permission, in particular if the data is necessary for the provision of our contractual services and online services, or is required by law, or if consent has been given.
We take organizational, contractual, and technical security measures in accordance with the state of the art to ensure that the provisions of data protection laws are complied with and to protect the data processed by us against accidental or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction, or against access by unauthorized persons.
If, within the scope of this privacy policy, content, tools, or other means from other providers (hereinafter collectively referred to as "third-party providers") are used and their stated location is abroad, it is to be assumed that a data transfer to the countries of domicile of the third-party providers takes place. The transfer of data to third countries takes place either on the basis of a legal permission, a consent of the users, or special contractual clauses that guarantee a legally required security of the data.
Processing of Personal Data
In addition to the uses expressly mentioned in this privacy policy, personal data is processed for the following purposes on the basis of legal permissions or user consent:
- The provision, execution, maintenance, optimization, and security of our services, service and user benefits;
- Ensuring effective customer service and technical support.
We only transmit user data to third parties if this is necessary for billing purposes (e.g. to a payment service provider) or for other purposes if these are necessary to fulfill our contractual obligations to the users (e.g. address notification to suppliers).
When contacting us (via contact form or email), the user's information is stored for the purpose of processing the request and in the event that follow-up questions arise.
Personal data will be deleted if it has fulfilled its purpose and there are no retention obligations to the contrary.
Collection of Access Data
We collect data about every access to the server on which this service is located (so-called server log files). The access data includes the name of the accessed website, file, date and time of access, amount of data transferred, notification of successful access, browser type and version, the user's operating system, referrer URL (the previously visited page), IP address, and the requesting provider.
We use the log data without assigning it to the person of the user or other profiling in accordance with the statutory provisions only for statistical evaluations for the purpose of operation, security, and optimization of our online offer. However, we reserve the right to subsequently check the log data if there is a justified suspicion of illegal use based on concrete evidence.
Cookies & Reach Measurement
Cookies are small text files that are transferred from our web server or third-party web servers to your web browser and stored there for later retrieval. We use cookies for reach measurement and to ensure the functionality of our online offering.
Before we set cookies, we ask for your consent via our Cookie Consent Banner. There you can specify in detail which types of cookies you want to allow. Your preferences are saved and can be adjusted at any time via the banner.
Of course, you can also control the use of cookies in principle via the settings of your browser. If you do not want cookies to be stored on your computer, please deactivate the corresponding option in the system settings of your browser. Already stored cookies can also be deleted there. Please note that the exclusion of cookies may lead to functional restrictions of this online offering.
Google Analytics
We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about the use of the online offering by users is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
Google will use this information on our behalf to evaluate the use of our online offering by users, to compile reports on the activities within this online offering, and to provide us with further services associated with the use of this online offering and the internet. In doing so, pseudonymous usage profiles of users can be created from the processed data.
We only use Google Analytics with activated IP anonymization. This means that the IP address of users is shortened by Google within member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there.
The IP address transmitted by the user's browser is not merged with other Google data. Users can prevent the storage of cookies by setting their browser software accordingly; users can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to their use of the online offering to Google and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available under the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de.
For more information on Google's use of data for advertising purposes, settings and opt-out options, please visit the Google websites: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/partners ("Data use by Google when you use websites or apps of our partners"), http://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads ("Data use for advertising purposes"), http://www.google.de/settings/ads ("Manage information that Google uses to show you advertising") and http://www.google.com/ads/preferences ("Determine which advertising Google shows you").
Google Re/Marketing Services
We use Google Marketing Services (including Google Ads) from Google Ireland Limited. These services allow us to show you targeted advertising based on your interests, e.g. remarketing for products you have previously viewed.
For this purpose, (re)marketing tags are placed on our website, which store a cookie (or similar technologies) on your device. This records which content you have viewed and clicked on, as well as technical information (browser, operating system, visit duration).
Your IP address is collected, shortened within the EU/EEA and only in exceptional cases transmitted in full to Google servers in the USA and shortened there. Your IP address will not be merged with other Google data unless you have agreed to this. The collected data is processed pseudonymously, i.e. ads are managed for the cookie holder, not for a personally identified person.
For more information on Google's use of data for marketing purposes, please visit the overview page: https://www.google.com/policies/technologies/ads, Google's privacy policy is available at https://www.google.com/policies/privacy.
If you wish to object to the collection by Google marketing services, you can use the settings and opt-out options provided by Google: http://www.google.com/ads/preferences.
Newsletter
When you subscribe to our newsletter, you will receive promotional emails from us about our products, offers and promotions.
Your registration takes place via a double opt-in procedure: You will receive a confirmation email that you must click on. This serves your security and legal protection. Your registration (time, IP address) is logged.
We use MailChimp as a shipping service provider. Your email address and the log data mentioned above are stored on their servers. MailChimp uses this data to send and evaluate the newsletter on our behalf (e.g. technical optimization, determination of the countries of origin of the recipients). MailChimp will not use your data for its own purposes or pass it on to third parties.
Our newsletters contain "web beacons" (tiny, invisible graphics) that collect technical information (browser, system, IP address, time) when opened. This allows us to see if, when and which links in the newsletter are clicked. This data helps us to technically improve our newsletters and to better tailor the content to your interests. Neither we nor MailChimp track individual users personally.
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via an unsubscribe link at the end of each newsletter. This simultaneously revokes your consent to the dispatch and statistical evaluation. A separate cancellation is unfortunately not possible.
Integration of Third-Party Services and Content
It may happen that within our online offering, content or services from third-party providers, such as maps or fonts from other websites, are integrated. The integration of content from third-party providers always requires that the third-party providers perceive the IP address of the users, as they could not send the content to the users' browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. Furthermore, the
